The Wedding Dance Went Great
Just wanted to thank Francisco and the Dance Family
Studio for helping us learn to dance. We had a great time learning
the waltz and performing a special number at our wedding. We didn't
think we'd remember it, but we did and it was fun!
Thanks again. Michael & Diane Suzuki (Bride
& Groom)

Dear Francisco,
Just want to say thank you for doing such a great
job at our wedding. We heard such great comments from our
guests. Our wedding coordinator and and parents both said they
enjoyed your energy, enthusiasm , and the way you explained the
steps. Many said you made it fun, clear, and
understandable. That's wonderful!
You did a great job with the music as well
throughout the reception. We liked the music clips you used
for the introduction of the wedding party and your handling of all
those transitions. Thank you for taking care of the microphone
situation as well. It seemed to go very smoothly and we heard
nothing but compliments about your instruction and
presence.
Thank you and all the best,
Tracy Tan (Bride)

Hi
Francisco. Thanks for bailing Charlie and I out and finishing up the
choreography on our wedding dance. The dance went great. I
kept stepping on my dress – but most people didn’t even notice.
When I kept stepping on it further and further back, we just
stopped, smiled and started again. And it worked like a charm.
Just
wanted to say thanks for putting in the time with us last Sunday.
: )
And,
you’ve made a dancer out of Charlie. We even did the swing!
Looking forward to taking some classes with you guys sometime soon!
Best,
Candis (Bride)

Francisco and Stacey,
You were the
hit of the wedding! Everybody loved your performance. I'm
sure you hear this all the time. We are hoping to see you
guys at the party if we can get out of previous plans.
Now that we know your going to be there it would be hard
to miss. Again, thank YOU for helping to work things out
for the wedding. It really was a success. All the best!

daughter at their daughters wedding at the
Doubletree Hotel in Costa Mesa, CA]
Francisco and Stacey,
The dance was great everybody enjoyed. Thanks!

Francisco and Stacey,
You MUST know
that we not only SO appreciated and enjoyed learning our
dance and performing it at our wedding. When the band
left out an entire chunk of our song we had to
"shift over" to lead-and-follow and (wouldn't
you know it) we DID it! Steve kept leading with
confidence and instead of slink into a panic, we laughed
it off and had a ball! Thank you so much for giving us
that strong foundation; if it's any indication of how our
marriage is, we'll be performing an encore of "our
dance" at our 50th anniversary! Also, everyone loved
the dance lessons! The dance floor was packed and it was
such a gas to see our guests having so much fun! Thank
you!

OUR FAVORITE EMAIL PLEA:
Hi
There!
So we need help! We are getting married over Thanksgiving weekend..
The groom, REALLY CANT DANCE... I mean SERIOUS..SERIOUS ISSUES. The
Bride...myself...Is a lifetime professional dancer, 15 years ballet,
modern,hip-hop, bellydance, whatever...
Needless to say...we do not even know where to begin to find a happy
medium between our two very different relationships with movement.
We've been in "dance denial" but the date is drawing near
and now we're crying for help!
Maybe a bunch of private lessons for my fiancé and then a couple of
"duet" attempts?
Do you have suggestions?
Help Me...I love this man but I cant bear to watch him dance!!!
PS: He is a brilliant vocalist and pianist.. somehow it just all
disconnects from the waist down!!
Let me know what you think!
~J
Dear J,
TOOO funny! We love your email plea!
We would love to work with you guys, and it's actually our specialty
"two left feet". If we may offer a suggestion,
we would love to see you join him in the private lessons for one
reason only - to make him more confident thus learn faster.
Myself, as a trained dancer starting at age five, I
felt for you in your sincere email. One of the most difficult
elements of dance to learn was partner dancing. I was trained! I
can spin by myself, just put your hand up to make it look nice, thank
you. YIKES! I was in for a real transition when it came
to my approach to the world of partner dancing. The BEST
lesson I've ever learned in teaching/choreographing for the past two
decades is that the more I smile and just respond to exactly what he
leads (ESPECIALLY WHEN HE DOES IT WRONG), the quicker a guy learns.
When I try to correct, or do anything but smile and show my
affirmation, guys short-circuit. The best advise I could give
you, is to just join him in the private lessons. EVEN THOUGH
you know how to dance circles around him... even though this might
be an area of difficulty for you, this could be a great opportunity
for you to jump into that supportive wife role and just be his
cheerleader for that 55 minutes you two are on the dance floor each
week. I suspect the dance will end up being a beautiful end
product, and a great experience for you two as well. ~ Stacey
