Francisco and Stacey,
After viewing you new instructional video, I wanted to share the following comments with anyone interested, especially those who are "thinking about" purchasing the tapes. They should stop "thinking" and do it. I found "The 2 Left-Footer's guide to Dancing Salsa" (level 2b) to be an excellent learning and practice tool for salsa.

For the salsa student, there is nothing better than being able to take your salsa instructor home with you. That's what happens when you take home the new instructional video tape produced by Francisco and Stacey Martinez. "The 2 Left-Footer's guide to Dancing Salsa" brings Francisco and Stacey into your living room with the same step-by-step instruction you receive when taking their dancing classes.

"The 2 Left-Footer's guide to Dancing Salsa" is a three set video tape that teaches salsa levels 1, 2a and 2b. The tapes can be purchased individually or all three can be purchased at a discount. Level 1 teaches right turns. Level 2a covers cross-body leads and level 2b teaches left turns.

One important difference between live instruction and the video is that with the video, you are able to watch Francisco and Stacey repeat any move over and over again by simply rewinding the tape. You ever wonder what it is you are doing that gets you out of step or why you are having trouble doing a certain move? Just play it over again and watch carefully or dance in unison with Francisco and Stacey. Each step is explained, then demonstrated to music. Transitions from one move to the next are provided so that combination moves looked seamless. The addition of key "dos and don'ts of salsa" make the instruction complete.

The instruction on the video tapes is consistent with the curriculum taught by Francisco and Stacey in the dance studio. You can practice the "COWWWS" the "COWBOY" and the "DOUBLE" over and over until you get it just right. These tapes are a "must have" for those who want to become expert salsa dancers.

Charanga Cubana - Our favorite salsa band hands down!
Charanga Cubana was formed in 1995 under the direction of Edgar Hernandez from Cien Fuegos Cuba. The band not only plays dance music from Cuba but also interprets music from all of Latin America in a Cuban flavor. The band is very unique in that it blends French, Haitian and African roots and unlike many salsa bands, this band uses 2 violins and a flute that gives the band a unique sound.
